Posters have been great political and social protagonists throughout history. They can also be considered the first and clearest intersection between design and activism in history. Although used mostly for commercial purposes, nowadays they continue to play an important role of protest and denouncement in public space.
This gallery contains a selection of posters I have designed individually and with other collectives in the last six years in which I have studied the aestheticization of politics and protest in Colombia and Latin America, while exploring analog and digital techniques for both design and reproduction.
*The name of this gallery is inspired by argentinean journalist and thinker Rodolfo Walsh critic of the dictatorship and its censorship who wrote: »las paredes son la imprenta de los pueblos« »walls are the printing press of the people«

»Politics of Fiction« Workshop developed with graphic artist Felipe Herreño from »El honorable Cartel« in the Exploratorio openLab in Medellín. Together with 15 participants from different backgrounds we discussed the fictional character of politics, the psychological-hacks used by propaganda to persuade, and analyzed the visual language of the current election campaigns to create our own satirical version of it. The result was a collection of posters printed in a jam-like session, intervening, mixing up, and juxtaposing the images and texts created with analog techniques.
